My Philosophy

My Philosophy

I believe quality care begins with collaboration with families and that a child's well being and learning will thrive in a safe, engaging and inclusive environment supported by nurturing relationships.

I will incorporate daily mindful practices and support children in the development of their self regulation and social skills which will help to promote life long resiliency.

I will encourage positive mindsets and ensure children feel seen, heard and validated which will help to them connect, explorer and have a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.

There will be balanced opportunities of child lead free play and planned adult directed activities throughout the day; as well as varied play based indoor and outdoor activities that promote social, emotional and cognitive growth including fine and gross motor skill development.

I strive to provide quality care that promotes a culture of connection, compassion, curiosity, creativity, confidence and competency through a fun and educational program.

Create

Early development is a series of firsts. Their first words, first tower block, first mud pie, are part of exploring and learning how to create in their environment. In my program, creation and exploration are woven into the core beliefs and practices.

Cultivate

I will support children in strengthening their self regulatory skills by when necessary guiding them through social situations offering strategies to help problem solve or to process big emotions. In addition, providing effective co-regulation through thoughtful responses that are calm, respectful, and empathetic. A child's ability to understand and manage their feelings and behaviours affects their overall success in maintaining positive relationships, adapting to change, learning and coping with stressors.

Celebrate

We will explore and learn about other cultures; celebrating each other's differences to help build an inclusive environment, leading to positive self esteem and caring, respectful relationships.
